They Got Their Name When MIKE Was Working At The Starbucks Coffee Shop At 3451 Kingsway & He Was Trying To Give A Customer His/Her Change...
He Was Reportedly To Have Said Repeatedly (Over n' Over Again To The Customer)...
"Here's Your Nickel Back".
They've Put Out 4 Albums, An EP, 'HESHER' Name Taken From A Friend Whom Always Says - "Hey Sure".
The 3 Full Length Albums... CURB, THE STATE & SILVER SIDE UP... Now Their 5th Released Called... THE LONG ROAD With 1st Single SOMEDAY ! This Newest Album Was Released Sept. 23rd Of 2003...
The Band Is Comprised Of Brothers CHAD & MIKE KROEGER, And Also Other Members... RYAN PEAKE & RYAN VIKEDAL...
Since The Recording Of Curb, The Original Drummer - BRANDON KROEGER Had Left The Band To Pursue A Differen't Career. He Had Been Replaced With MITCH GUINDON On Drums. MITCH Has Since Left The Band & Now RYAN VIKEDAL (Nicknamed - NIK) Has Been Their Drummer Since The Summer Of 1998. He Can Be Heard On Both Albums - THE STATE & SILVER SIDE UP...
Shortly After The Release Of 'THE STATE', They Were Signed To EMI Records In Canada & Also ROADRUNNER Records In The USA...
'THE STATE' Was Released Again In Sept. 1999 By EMI In Canada With A Slightly Re-Done Cover. It Was Done To Emphasize The Band Name Over The Album Title. Again, When Roadrunner Put Out The Album In The USA The Following March, The Album Was Re-Designed Once Again To Become A Little More Edgy!
When Asked To Describe Their Style, They'll Often Say Anything From Groove Rock To Just Plain Rock n' Roll!
Don't EVER Call Them Grunge!
Also, Although They May Now Be On The Roadrunner Records Label, They're Definately NOT A METAL BAND!
Their 1st (EP) HESHER, Seems To Be In The Situation Of Never Being Taken Out Of The Vault To Ever Be Re-Released. The Album Goes On-line Auction Services From Time To Time, Sometimes Earning The Seller As Much As $400 American... (Four Hundred American Bucks ).
'SILVER SIDE UP' - Produced By RICK PARASHAR Whom Has Produced Countless Big-Time Acts Was Released Sept. 11/01. Followed By The Extremely Early Pre-Release Of The Single... 'HOW YOU REMIND ME,' This Album Was Surely Destined For Greatness!
I Just Heard The Single Off Their Brand New Album Which Was Released A Few Wks Ago...And I Like What I Hear PPL

Hey TJ...remember seeing Nickelback at the bar "The State" for only $5.00 entrance fee before they hit stardom? Too funny how prices go wayyyyy up! But I do love Nickelback!
