TJ Wednesday, July 09, 2003 2:44:53 PM Hi, From Regina! It was a year ago @ Craven's Rock n' The Valley that I was graced w/JP! I waited A VERY LONG-TIME to see the band live! It was an awesome show (Thank-You)! The leathers, The smoke and well KK and Glenn just rocked all my fantasies of many years of waiting for them live. The new singer is an Awesome Singer also!!! The only thing that was a little disappointing about his appearance was he came out w/the rapper look. Must've been the heat though to wear those leathers!?! Also the downer was that you're show wasn't long enough. When does JP plan on returning to Regina, Sask? THAT'D BE SO RIGHT ON!!! Take Care And Keep Those Awesome Tunes Coming! Luv ya guys....PEACE! TJ
TJ Wednesday, July 09, 2003 5:37:25 PM Saw JP for the 1st X live last year around this same time in Craven. They totally blew me away! I've been wanting so badly to see them over the years but they never came to Regina. Craven's Rock Fest is this week...Going to see George Thorogood, Queen City Kids, Cheap Trick, Trooper, etc on Saturday but JP rocked down the Valley last year and hopefully they'll make their way to Regina next X around! The leathers, The smoke (All of it was a dream come true)...The sychronizing melodic guitarism was all good. We were all screaming MORE and JP JP JP...I would've loved to meet KK and Glenn. My sisters oldman plays in Grimstone which was out their last year also. Anyhow, my 1st w/JP was surely NO disappointment! Keep it Rockin' guys! Still Luv ya guys...Peace TJ

I Saw Def Leppard Last Weekend & What A Show! My Memories Of The Place Being Packed To The Hilts Which Is Not Usual! Def Leppard Pelting Out Those Tunes Like Yesterday Never Faltered! Hands In The Air/ PPL Screaming For More/ PPL Dancing When They Had Seats / The Lightshow Was Phenomenal!
*INXS - I Have To Say Was One Of The BEST Live Acts I've Seen So Far. SADLY Never Will See Them Play Again (The Lead Singer-Michael Hutchence Hung Himself In A Hotel In Aussie )! They Sure Knew How To Get The Crowd Going & They're Stage Setup Was Always Awesome! Their Acts Were UpBeat & LightShows Were Indeed Eye Catching. Michaels Voice Never Faltered!
*Funny Stories (Yet Now ) Was Throwing Cheese Around The Moshpit At The Doughboys Gig At The University ...Also Watching PPL Roll Around In Mudpits/Covered Head 2 Toe (Sometimes Naked ) At Craven's Rock n' The Valley (Place I Seen JP Live)...Their Are So Many Funny Things That've Happened At These Fests We've Gone Too...Big Guys Dancing On Top Of A SchoolBus Setup As A Party Bus Wearing Just A Thong (You Know The ButtFloss Undies, lol)-btw, That Guy Later Had A Super Red Ass/Sunburnt Ass, We Laughed At Him Later That Night....
*Stage Diving Into A Moshpit Of Furry At The S.N.F.U (Punk Band - Societies No Fucking Use) Gig Was Exhillarating Although, Painfully Fun
*Taking An Old Album To The David Wilcox Gig & Waving It At Him In The Crowd (Watching His Shock At This Was COOL) & Then Personally Meeting Him & Having Him Sign The Vinyl . I Took My Mom To This Gig Which Was A Memory For Me Cos She Was In Crutches At The Time & Still Got Up On The Boogey Floor ...That Really Impressed Wilcox To Have Her Out At The Show With Her Broken Leg...

I wish i was old enough to see those ones. Nope, sorry! I Was Too Young Also To Go To GNR Gigs Cos The Travelling Wasn't Permitted. Alot Of Awesome Bands Don't Play Close To My City (Either 3hr or 8hr Drive) Which Ticks Us Off....That's Why When Def Leppard Played Last Weekend Here In My City (It Was Sold-Out) ...I've Seen Alot Of GNR's Gigs On The Tele But Unfortunately, That's It For Moi'.

« Reply #10 on: Sep 22nd, 2003, 12:40pm By: DEX »Well in my younger days as a young drummer full of himself thinking I was going to be the next big thing as you do... we were playing a place called Tiffanys in Newcastle town Centre. A well known hot spot for rock disco's!
We had already took Anvil their and Vandenberg to check it out when they toured. Anyway we were setting up in this little room holds about 500 or so we had just got a new demo tape done we were in the paper that day half a page, I knew alot of people from the rock bar were coming to see us that night a good crowd.
Any way on the other side of the concert hall was a band all setting up with all the new nice equipment etc - all theses guys in suits walking around as they do.
So, I am sound checking away doing my impressive double bass drum sound check - like riding a harley the power was immense. So this guy appears when I'm halfway through waving his bloody arms n' stuff and my first thought was "look at that guys bloody red hair and hanging over his face" - I thought he must be lost or something.
So, Phil the bands singer/guitarist in all his wisdom rock star bit starts talking to him. Then starts waving his arms at me to stop....
So, by now (Not a happy Dex) can feel a strop hissy fit coming on, lol.....So, I stop "What the f**k is it now", in true rock star attitude.
Phil says, "Oh this guys from Simply Red and they're playing through the other part and they want to know if they can set there table up and have their lunch here"?
Red haired Bloke to a Dex - I went "You're f'n joking I'm doing my sound check for gods sake - you all done yours f***"? That's what I said........
So, much squabbling took place me on my soap box - "Bloody typical, just cause we're a rock band etc we get screwed over so you can have lunch my arse" So, I threw down my sticks and said "Please your f'n self".......
So, Simply Red had their lunch.........
Later on - the guy comes in from the record company with a drink vouchers for $50.00 pounds about ($100) to get drinks with...........
Turns out - it was only Mick Hucknell went back through saying some shit of a drummers losing his head in there............
My claim to fame - I gave Simply Red shit..........
Wonder why he nevers phones any more..lol
The gig was great but they sold slightly more records then we did but we never sold out ...LOL!

It took me quite a while to convince my folks to let me go to this event... Anyway, we had so much fun! Great music, a lot of dancing, really, we kind of invented crowd surfing at that fest. Only, ... I was so stupid to wear a white blouse. I really don't know what happened, but when I got home my mum freaked out. My beautiful white blouse was dirty all over and on the back it was actually torn into pieces. Oh boy, that took me lot of explaining
