While not a doors fan...theres a shock .......
But I watched the movie as it's music and it's good to see how they lived there life's and stuff......

I found it to be a very good film for the time they were out and the stuff they were doing you have to admire what they were about.......
Yes he was great at lyrics/poetry depending on which way you look at his work...
I thought kilmer done a good job you liked he was on stage and not just an actor playing a part very convincing.
Music wise to me (not that I am any bodybut) there so haunting there songs have an atmosphere to them which makes bands weather you like them or not stand out.It's the sign of a great band and writers that can get that accross on a song even in those days.......

I can see the appeal to people but not of my side of music......

I thought I would answer post as it looked lonely ...

First off, Thanks Dex for replying to this very very lonely thread,lol! I love the Doors! I love Jim Morrison and I can definately say that Val Kilmer can lay his boots under my bed, mwhaaahaaaa, just kidding! I don't know if hubby'll like that too much ! I was really into Jims writings, journals, etc a few yrs back. I've read a few books on the Doors, etc. I really love the movie! Silverstone does excellent work! I could go on forever about this movie! ;D

I think the movie was excellent!!! Val Kilmer's performance was outstanding in my thoughts alone. My favorite scene is when they were all in the desert, and when Jim and Pam were on Trick's roof top. This movie gave us a peek at there lives and I found it very facinating, happy and sad! I am a fan of the Doors what can I say! ;D One last thing, all of the actors and actresses were all awesome in my opinion, but i'd have to say Val was the perfect Jim for this movie and his acting should never be underestimated!

I Absolutely Put This Movie At The Tops Of My List For Slapping In A Music/Movie ! Val Has Always Been The Apple Of My Eye Since His 1st Movie ! Anyhow, His Acting Abilities Of Portraying Jim Were Right On The $$$ For What I've Imagined Him To Be! So, Tips The Hat To Val Kilmer For Once Again Intriguing Me !

I Basically, LOVE This Whole Movie & It Was Great To See Such A Wonderful Director As Oliver Stone Do A Great Job In The Portrayal Of The Doors! !

I Am Going To La Chaisse In France To Visit Jim's Grave When We Go Back To Europe Next !
