I Really Liked BlackHawk Down As I Already Knew The Little History From School and Read The Book...But Movies Never Play As Good As Books (Literature) Of Course But It Was A Well Directed/Produced Movie !P.S. Sorry Corkman, That I Didn't Notice This Thread From A Few Wks Ago and I've Modified The Topic So That We Can Continue Talking About ALL War/Army/Etc Movies Too ! I've Wanted To Create A Thread Specifically/Strictly On Those Type Of Movies BUT Thought No One Was Interested Till Now...Right On Corkman! What Other Movies Do U Like?

They are some of the best ones of and Kelly's heroes.
I didn't know anybody else really liked these types of movies because people that i know like seeing bloody violence but they say they don't like war movies (riiiiiiight) i guess they just don't care about alot of History.

My favourites :
-Enemy at the gates (fantastic Ed Harris!) -Platoon (the scene where Willem Dafoe can't get into the chopper, where he's sitting on his knees, arms stretched to the sky, was heartbreaking) -Apocalypse now (also for the great music) -Saving Private Ryan -Das Boot (a long, German, very realistic movie about a submarine) -Het meisje met het rode haar ('The girl with the red hair', a Dutch movie about the resistance)
I also liked Band of Brothers a lot

I loved Band of Brothers stayed up until 11:30 every school night last year for 6 weeks to watch it. I was very tired after that lol. But alot of people thought it was just those few guys and i had to explain to them that there was a whole division backing them lol.

It was about a café ©n Brussels where the staff had hidden allied pilots who'd crashed. They also helped these pilots to escape to England. Of course the Germans started to get suspicious and some of the staff ended up in jail, were questioned and tortured etc. One of the actors, who played a German officer ,was such a nasty looking guy (very big, white, short hair, cold eyes) that I had nightmares about it. Later 'Life line' was parodised. Do you know 'Allo allo'? Very, very funny.. Sometimes war can be funny. Remember MASH
