I saw 'Der Untergang' two weeks ago, the new German movie about Hitlers' last days in his bunker. Great movie, but also terrifying. Unbelievable how that man had so many influence on so many people. Such a neurotic, psychopathic bastard. Respect for Bruno Ganz, the guy who played Hitler. Must take courage to play a role like that.

Of course I will probably never get to see that one, but maybe on world movies ;D. It would be weird as playing the role of Hitler, getting protrayed like that

I borrowed "All Quiet on the Western Front" from mine and Corkie's History teacher. Now THAT is an awesome war movie! ALso went to see the new Keanu Reeves movie "Constantine". Kick arse!! I love all that supernatural stuff, and exorcisms. Keanu is a legend.

Yeah, 'All quiet on the western front' is a great, but hard movie. One of the first dvd's I bought. It's one of those movies which should be obligated in history-class.

[glow=Blue,2,300]The last new movie that I have seen this year was The Notebook and man ;D it was awesome!! My boyfriend and I watched that movie for Valentine's Day and we both love it and cried awwww it was all good. The movie after that so far has been Bram Stoker's Dracula it's another awesome movie that I just bought finally lol, I didn't really care for Keanu Reeves & Wynona Ryder, but Gary Oldman who played Dracula is an awesome Actor I don't think he gets enough credit for his performances!! I bought another movie called The Professional and it is another awesome movie cried what else is new haha, but it's all good Gary Oldman also acts in this movie as the bad D.E.A officer. I have seen these movies before, but it's always good to watch things that have touched you in such a way [/glow]

Yesterday I saw 'Edges of the lord' on dvd. It's a heartbreaking movie about a Jewish boy (played by Haley Joel Osment, or what's his name) in WWII in Poland. His parents make a deal with a farmer who takes him with his family. The boy has to fake he is catholic to survive. There's a big problem, the farmer's own sons can't stand him. So they're always fighting. But then they realize they have to stand together to survive the Nazis, and the children grow to eachother. Great movie. The little guy, who plays Tolo, the farmer's youngest son, is just amazing. Willem Dafoe plays the villages' priest BTW

Seems I'm really into war-movies, last few weeks. Yesterday I saw 'the diary of Anne Frank'. I'm a bit ashamed that I never saw it when I was younger. It was very moving an although it's almost 3 hours, it never got boring.

[glow=blue,2,300] I have seen a lot of movies this month and some were good and some I think could have been better. I loved that movie notebook I cried my eyes out but it was well worth it. I even noticed my hubby shedding some tears I watched that movie Million Dollar Baby and I thought it was a great movie but I was surprised by the ending I didn't think it would end the way it did. And then there is Bogeyman and I liked it but I didn't like the ending as well it just didn't make any sense to me And then there was a movie my husband Jeff took me to see called Darkness and I think it really sucked. I was so messed up by the time it was over that all I kept asking him was "WHAT THE HECK HAPPEND???" Then there was Amityville Horror 2005 and I thought it was awsome it scared the crap right out of me. And then there was Ice Princess I mean come on I still have to check out the Walt Disney movies every now and then ... lol but it made me cry ... lol yeah ok I'm a big suck but I love all types of movies but I will definitely be here to post more since I am a big time movie freak ;D [/glow]

I think it's because they were so spot on with the hell that not only the adults but these poor children went through.... Tolo at the end................. OMG.. I totally lost it [/glow]

I saw 'Charlotte Gray' on tv. A mix of a romantic and war movie about a Scottish woman who falls in love with an English pilot. The girl, Charlotte, works as a spy for the English army. When her boyfriends' plane crashes above France she goes over there (for another assignment basically). She works together with the French resistance and rescues two Jewish boys with one of the leaders of the resistance, Julien. After a while she hears her pilot got killed in the crash. Things go out of control when a lot of people of the resistance get killed in one of their actions. Julien escapes. They have to hide the Jewish boys, but they are discovered by the Germans and put on a deportation together with Julien's father. Charlotte returns to Britain. After a while the pilot shows up, healthy and alive. He was mistaken with another man. But Charlottes' heart is with Julien now. After the war she goes to France, not knowing if he is still alive.
The movie is based on Sebastian Faulks' book 'Charlotte Gray', but the plot of the book is different than the movie.

The Butterfly Effect (Not sure if you need to be on something to watch a movie like this one or just into whacked movies lol) ;D Contantine was alright. I've never been much of a Keannu Reeves fan but he did alright in this one.

We took our kids on Family Day (Feb 18th) to see the movie 'The Golden Compass' & it was pretty good!
;D
They really enjoyed the movie too. It's been a very long-time since we've been to the movie theatre. Last-time for me and the boys was to see 'Star Wars - Episode III'...and 'Shrek II' for the whole family...
Last weekend, seen 'The Last King of Scotland' ;D
