When residents attend next month?s Fest-a-Ball at Griffin Park, there will be ball games to watch and fun activities for kids to enjoy.
But there will be another attraction that?s sure to get attention: A singer from a well-known rock band who will perform the national anthem.
Sully Erna, front man for the hard rock group Godsmack, has agreed to sing for the May 21 event, which is being organized by the Windham Baseball-Softball League.
?We?re really excited,? said league member Charlie McMahon. ?A lot of kids love his music.?
The event, currently being organized, will probably run about six hours, McMahon said.
?We?re hoping to make a day of it, a community event to do every year,? he said.
Town officials have been challenged to organize a team to take on a baseball team on the diamond, the concession window of the park?s new multi-use facility will be open, and other activities are being planned, McMahon said.
Championship teams and a team that raised the most money in a program to benefit the Jimmy Fund last season will also be honored, he added. I put the photo in & the color kind of matches his beautiful eyes:( ;D [/shadow]

[glow=Blue,2,300]Well Godsmack is back in the studio making a new album that will certainly be out next year ;D I can't wait because usually everything that they come out with on Cd or DVD ROCKS!! Plus they'll be touring again and I definitely want to see them in concert again wahooo [/glow]

[glow=Green,2,300]Sully Goes From The Little League To The NFL [ 11/15/2005 ]

The Windam NH little league teams invited Sully to perform the National Anthem earlier this year, now the Patriots are following suit. On January 1, 2006, Sully will perform the Anthem at Gillette Stadium where the Pats will host the Miami Dolphins. The game is scheduled to air on CBS at 1 PM. Godsmack is currently in the recording studio and hope to release in early to mid 2006.
