BAND INFO:

The Boston-based alt-metal band
Godsmack
took their name from a song by
Alice In Chains.
The foursome --
Sully Erna (vocalist),
Tony Rambola (guitarist),
Robbie Merrill (bassist)
&
Tommy Stewart (drums) --
Released their debut album,
All Wound Up,
on independent EK Records in 1997.

The band then inked a deal with Universal,
who re-released the album
with a few new tracks as
Godsmack in August 1998.

Retail giants Wal-Mart & Kmart
promptly yanked the album from
their shelves due to its
profane content,
placing Godsmack in the center
of the ongoing controversy
over mandatory music ratings.
Despite of or perhaps in response
to the controversy,
the album sold more than
4 million copies.

In 2000,
Godsmack
contributed a track,
"Time Bomb,"
to the Scream 3 soundtrack.
They also released Awake,
whose instrumental track,
?Vampires,?
was nominated in the
Best Instrumental category at the
2001 Grammy Awards.

In 2002,
Godsmack
mainman Sully Erna
was tapped by
the Rock to A&R the soundtrack
to The Scorpion King.
The song that Godsmack itself contributed was
"I Stand Alone,"
which garnered two Grammy nominations
for Best Hard Rock Performance
&
Best Rock Song for the 2003 Grammy Awards.

Godsmack
released their third album,
Faceless,
in 2003,
working with veteran producer
David Bottrill (Tool, King Crimson)
&
adding new drummer
Shannon Larkin (Amen).

GODSMACK

Well I own the faceless cd! I bought it the day it was released for sale. I really love the music and especially the song called (SERENITY) They have alot of songs on the cd that kicks major ass and I love it!!! Sully is also very attractive too me and even if he wasn't in a band he'd still get a thumbs up from me. He is lyrically talented and he also played drums which is awesome!!! The new drummer is also very talented and the rest of the band pieces more and more into Sully's songs! I think they ROCK and hey if you're ever in a mood where you are angry or need serenity GODSMACK will make you feel grrrreat! Trust me on this.

I can't believe that no one has posted anything about GODSMACK yet? Has anyone ever heard of them or like them or not? I forgot to mention that the song: Bad Religion, Spiral are another favorites and hope someone listens to there music to tell me what you think? If anyone likes James Hetfield's voice (singer) from Metallica then you'll like or even love Godsmack!!!

I think that the new drummer is so fricken cool!!!!!! Have you ever seen him play in a video? He definitly ROCKS in my books mama X-Mas ideas are definitly welcome and You know anything to do with Godsmack would be an awesome gift hint hint lol you just let me know if you really want there cd cause your wish will be granted mama WOOF!!!
